Description

The Baicells Nova249 is a high-power LTE FDD base station designed for outdoor deployments requiring broad coverage and high capacity. Operating in FDD mode with 2x2 MIMO and 40W output per channel, it is ideal for private networks in rural broadband, utility, and campus environments. The Nova249 supports up to 1024 concurrent users and provides strong performance even in non-line-of-sight conditions.

This unit is compatible with multiple FDD bands, including 700 MHz, 850 MHz, and 2.6 GHz, and supports up to 20 MHz bandwidth. It features a rugged, IP66-rated enclosure and dual Ethernet/fiber backhaul. The Nova249 is compatible with standard LTE EPCs and includes support for embedded HaloB core functionality. This model supports Band 1/3/5/7/8/20/28.

Deployment Requirements

To deploy the Baicells Nova249, you’ll need:

  • IP backhaul: Supported over Ethernet or fiber via RJ45 and SFP ports. Public or private backhaul protected via IPsec.
  • EPC or core network: Compatible with external EPCs or Baicells’ embedded HaloB EPC for standalone deployments.
  • Power and mounting: Nominal -48VDC. Requires pole or wall mounting. Optional AC adapter and GPS surge protection recommended.
  • External antennas: Required. N-Type connectors support directional or omnidirectional high-gain antennas.
  • GPS antenna for synchronization: Required. External GPS antenna must be connected via N-Type port.
  • Environmental considerations: IP66-rated enclosure. Operates from -40°C to 55°C with max power consumption under 300W.

Setting up a private network can get involved — from hardware selection and integration, to network design, software configuration, and user device onboarding. Our team of experts can help deliver a complete solution, whether you’re looking for just the parts or a full turnkey deployment. Reach out here to get started.
