If you've ever tried to DIY a multi-network setup, you know it's a rabbit hole of configuration headaches. Usually, when one connection blips, your Zoom call dies anyway while the hardware 'decides' what to do.

With Waveform, it actually works. My primary ISP can drop completely, and my connection stays alive without me even noticing. They're proactively monitoring my signal and switching carriers behind the scenes to keep things stable.

Common Questions About Pricing

Why does this cost more than $60 5G home internet?

Because it's a different product. A $60 plan gets you one SIM, one consumer router, and no one watching it. If the signal drops, you're offline until you figure it out.

Waveform combines multiple networks, enterprise hardware, and bonding software, all managed by our team 24/7. We usually catch issues before you notice them. If reliability matters to you, you're paying for a service, not just a connection.

What if it doesn't work for me?

We check signal data for your address before you order, so we have a strong sense of what to expect. And if it doesn't deliver once it's running, return everything within 30 days for a full refund — hardware, service, the works.

We'd rather earn your business than lock you into a service that isn't working for you.

Is there a hardware cost?

Yes, but you own it either way. Pay $500–$850 upfront (depending on plan) and it's yours after 4 months of service. Or roll it into your monthly ($44–$74/mo) and own it after 12 months.

Cancel before then and you can return the hardware for a full refund of what you've paid toward it.

Can't I just build this myself?

Technically, yes. Practically, it's a big project. You'd need multiple routers or modems, SIMs from different networks, a bonding solution like Speedfusion or OpenMPTCP, plus a cloud server to handle the bonding itself. Then you maintain all of it — firmware, routing rules, failover logic, troubleshooting when something breaks.

And because we get bulk pricing on hardware and carrier data, we can offer this for less than you could build it yourself. If you love building this stuff, by all means. If you want internet that just works, we've already built it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a mobile hotspot or travel solution?

Not primarily. Waveform Internet is designed for a fixed location. We configure your hardware for a specific address and optimize the carrier selection around your local signal environment.

That said, if you move a few times a year, we can reconfigure everything remotely for your new address, no problem. What it's not built for is constant mobility — RVs, daily travel, or working from a different spot every week. If that's what you need, waveform.com has antennas and equipment designed to get the most out of a mobile hotspot plan.

Do I need to cancel my existing internet?

It's totally up to you — Waveform Internet works either way. Keep your existing ISP and plug it into our router, and we'll manage it as one of your connections alongside 5G, either as backup or bonded together. Or, if you're unhappy with your current ISP, we can replace it entirely with dual 5G.

Both setups work equally well; it's just a question of what fits your situation.

What's the difference between Essential, Smart, and Complete?

Each tier handles failover differently. Essential uses cold failover: if your primary goes down, the backup kicks in within a few seconds. Smart uses selective bonding: critical traffic like calls, VPN, and gaming runs across both connections so it never drops. Complete uses full bonding: every packet runs across both connections at all times.

Bonding has some overhead, so bonded traffic comes with a speed cap. On Smart, that cap only affects your protected traffic — browsing, streaming, and downloads run at full speed. On Complete, it applies to everything.

For most people, Smart is the best fit: seamless failover where it matters, full speed for everything else. The pricing table above has the full breakdown.

Will I notice when a failover happens?

Depends on your tier. On Smart and Complete, no — bonding keeps your session alive on the other connection, so calls, streams, and games keep running without a blip. On Essential, there's a brief 1–10 second outage while the switch happens, and active calls may need to reconnect.

Do I need to configure anything?

No. Your system arrives pre-configured for your address. Plug in the antennas, connect power, wait for the lights to turn green. Most people are online within 10 minutes.

Any changes after that (Wi-Fi name, routing policies, adding a WAN) we handle remotely within a few minutes.

Is the 5G data truly unlimited?

Yes. Here's how it works:

On the 5G SIMs: Your primary 5G SIM is truly unlimited. No throttling, no deprioritization, no hidden caps.

  • On Smart and Complete tiers, the secondary/backup SIM is unlimited too.
  • On Essential tiers, the secondary SIM is a dedicated backup with a 10 GB monthly cap that only uses data when your primary is down; the rest of the time it sits dormant. If you occasionally exceed that cap during an outage, we'll top you up automatically at no extra cost, without any downtime.

On bonding: Smart and Complete tiers route some of your traffic through our bonding infrastructure, and that bonded traffic has a monthly allowance.

  • Smart bonds only your protected traffic (calls, VPN, gaming). Everything else (browsing, streaming, downloads) is uncapped. The 125 GB bonding allowance on the Smart tier is more than almost anyone needs.
  • Complete bonds every packet, so the 500 GB allowance covers all your traffic. For the use cases where Complete makes sense (businesses with POS systems, sites with security cameras) this is almost always enough. If you genuinely need more, reach out and we can discuss unlimited bonding at an extra cost.

Either way, if you occasionally go over, we top you up automatically at no extra cost. See our Plans & Pricing page for a clear breakdown of how this works.

Will this work at my address?

Almost certainly. We support all major U.S. 5G networks and pick the best one(s) for your location using real-world signal data. Run the availability check to see exactly what we can offer you.

Can I use this with Starlink?

Absolutely. Starlink plugs in as one of your WAN inputs. We can bond it with 5G for maximum resilience, use it as a backup, or route specific traffic across whichever connection performs best in the moment.

Starlink on its own is a great connection, but it's still one connection. Pairing it with Waveform Internet gives you real redundancy.

I already have fast fiber. Why would I need this?

Fiber is excellent when it's working. But it's one connection, and every ISP goes down eventually — a construction accident, upstream outage, bad weather, or equipment failure.

If your work depends on being online (video calls, cloud apps, point-of-sale, cameras, VPN), Waveform Backup Internet adds a second path that takes over automatically the moment your fiber drops. It runs quietly in the background, and on Smart or Complete, you won't even notice when it kicks in.
